Goals

ConnectWise partnered with us in order to strengthen their digital presence and modernize their brand. This was to be executed with a full website redesign including – execution of a new design system, responsive designs, optimized content strategy and a refreshed site taxonomy.

Challenges

ConnectWise had an established brand – we had to use their existing brand and branding elements in order to create a more modern and sophisticated look and feel without a total brand overhaul.
This was a large website with complicated user journeys – we had to make sure that we understood the unique content we were going to be creating these designs for. As well as the impact on the intended user journey across the site, and throughout the entire digital ecosystem.
The timeline was tight – this required the ability to balance the timeline demands while also delivering quality and well researched work.

Process

As with any web redesign project, research was the first step. We researched ConnectWise’s competitors and comparators in order to get an idea of how they were acting in a similar space. We also analyzed what ConnectWise could do in order to stand out while also creating similar patterns we felt were working on other sites.

Due to tight timelines and wanting to spend hours elsewhere, formal content mapping or wireframes were not in scope. As a UX/UI designer some form of content strategy is always part of my process so you will see that when I felt necessary, I did in fact create Content IA and Content Mapping to be shared with the client so that we were aligned on specific and unique pages and experiences.

As designs were created, my Business Analyst and development team were working along side me to create technical, as well as business requirements, and starting development. We worked as a team to create the best product possible that was also attainable within the budget and timeline.
