Goals

Create a user-friendly and intuitive website experience that highlights Gen Re’s underwriting and claims expertise. The goal of this redesign was to produce a new design system that would increase engagement, highlight their expertise in the field, and create an environment for new and existing customers to explore their thought leadership.


Challenges

  1. Dense and complicated subject matter – we needed to create an effortless experience despite the complexities.

  2. Modern updates with minimal branding – the website needed to be updated with a modern look and feel while still maintaining the very minimal brand elements and keeping things professional.

  3. Reducing user’s time and effort – users needed to easily find the content they were looking for, but we were working with a large website and taxonomy.


Process

Because of my experience with UX design and wireframing I worked alongside the UX Strategist in order to create these wires, providing oversight – making suggestions and edits for him to implement before presenting to the client.

Once wires had been approved we moved into the design phase. We presented two different homepage options that would influence the remaining design system for the rest of the website. After the client chose a direction, I moved forward with the additional templates and design system.
